5 year old Freddie from Sidmouth built a Lego Nightingale Hospital for Boris Johnson to help cheer him up as he recovers. Boris is Freddie’s hero and I’m sure the Prime Minister will agree he’s an extremely talented and thoughtful young man.
I warmly welcome the plans for the new NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter based at Westpoint in East Devon. The extra 200 beds will ensure our superb local NHS is as prepared as possible to beat the virus.
The transport industry faces significant challenges as a result of the virus. I joined my Transport Select Committee colleagues today to ask Transport Minister Chris Heaton-Harris about plans to support the aviation industry.
I fully support Devon's Police & Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez's call for second home owners to stay away from East Devon this Easter and consider making their properties available for the coronavirus response #comebacklater
The collapse of Flybe saw the firm put into administration with EY who have stated that Flybe "does not have the financial resources left” to implement the government's Job Retention Scheme to help former staff in these difficult times.
I’m receiving an unprecedented number of emails, letters and calls due to Coronavirus. I am lucky to have a great small team working to prioritise urgent cases. We are working hard to help hundreds of residents on a variety of issues and I will always stand up for East Devon residents.
