Since last May’s flash floods, I have been working with the government to secure extra investment into flood management schemes in East Devon.
My pleas were heard, with £1.4 million announced to help reduce flood risks along the River Otter and River Sid.
I recently met Alan Lovell, Chair of the Environment Agency, in Budleigh Salterton and discussed why this is so important to better protect local communities at risk from flooding, including Newton Poppleford, Harpford, Feniton, Gosford, Tipton St John, Venn Ottery, Colaton Raleigh and East Budleigh.
My focus will always be on getting things done for where we live – and working with local communities to bring that about.
