Internal Market Bill and the transition period

Like you, I’ve carefully considered the Internal Market Bill. I reviewed my own concerns and those of the many emails I’ve received on this topic before deciding how to vote on this legislation.

A lot of what the Bill does has been lost in the furore in Parliament and in the media.

£6 million cash boost for the RD&E

Fantastic news! £6 million is being invested in the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital to upgrade patient facilities. It builds on the opening of Nightingale Hospital Exeter for diagnostic testing which is helping to meet local demand.

Coronavirus tests in East Devon - Latest

Highly edited and unrealistic body images distort expectation and harm mental health as people feel pressure to strive for a goal which simply doesn’t exist. It’s an issue very close to my heart and I'm proud to be a co-signatory of Dr Luke Evans MPs bill.

The BBC must always reflect the places it serves

It was really encouraging to speak to the new Director General of the BBC today. The corporation must support local services like Spotlight and Radio Devon and encourage diversity of background and thought in newsrooms to address concerns about metropolitan bias in current affairs.
