Catching up with the Chancellor

Great to see the Chancellor Rishi Sunak this morning. I pressed for reform of Air Passenger Duty which unfairly hits regional airlines including East Devon based Flybe. I also spoke with the Treasury team about the A303, Dinan Way Extension, Dawlish and IR35.

Protect our beautiful woodlands

I’m proud to support The Woodland Trust. Did you know we have 1,086 ancient and veteran trees in East Devon? We’re so lucky to live near beautiful woodland across our county. Let’s keep it that way.

Tipton St John Primary School regularly at risk from flooding

It was great to meet with the headteacher and staff at Tipton St John Primary School today. It’s a wonderful school regularly at risk of flooding and I’ll work with them and the community to find the best way forward. So lovely to see the children having fun in the classroom too!

HS2 given go ahead...

My concerns about HS2 are based on the cost, not the concept. We must improve connectivity across the country, including Devon. I was pleased to hear the PM mention the need to improve the A303 and Dawlish in his statement. The chequebook must stay open for the South West.

Sunday Politics South West

Great to appear alongside Neil Parish MP and Cllr Andrea Davis on Sunday Politics South West discussing rail funding for the South West. We have many opportunities to improve transport in Devon and we’re working together to keep the county moving.

South West Tory Conference

The energy and enthusiasm at this years South West Tory Conference was fantastic. I really enjoyed speaking with members from East Devon and beyond. It was brilliant to share the stage with fellow MPs Anthony Mangnall and Cherilyn Mackrory to discuss the opportunities ahead.
