There has been another suspected sewage pipe burst in Exmouth. The Environment Agency has been informed. Tankering is currently ongoing between Phear Park and Maer Lane, with traffic management in place.
I share local anger at the lack of investment from South West Water into the town’s water infrastructure, and disruption this has caused local residents through tanker movements.
I have a scheduled meeting with South West Water's senior leadership later this week. I will be expecting a full progress report on a permanent solution to pipe bursts in Exmouth and on the £38 million of infrastructure investment, which I want fast-tracked for the town.
I have been informed of this recent pipe burst in the last hour and I will post more information as the picture becomes clearer.
Ironically given what’s happened today, I spoke to ITV Westcountry yesterday about South West Water. Watch here.
