Off the back of our county’s big win that Cullompton is getting a new railway station, it was great to join the Transport Secretary, Mark Harper MP, at the site where it is set to be built.
Through the cancellation of the HS2 extension which was absorbing taxpayers' money, this government has set free £6.5 billion pounds which will be reinvested into local transport networks across the country.
It’s proof that the Conservatives are focused on delivering for our bit of Devon whilst creating new opportunities, improving connectivity, and boosting the local economy.
As I work in the Department for Transport, I will continue working hard to ensure we get spades in the ground as soon as possible. I'm really looking forward to seeing the first train pull into Cullompton since 1964!
