I won't rest until pupils and staff at Tipton St John Primary have a safe new state-of-the-art school after serious flooding led to its evacuation earlier this year.
That’s why I’ve been working alongside the school’s dedicated leadership team as well as the Diocese of Exeter, Devon County Council and Department for Education officials to find them a new home away from their current flood-prone site.
This major project, bringing new teaching facilities to East Devon whilst giving the school the secure future it deserves, has been made possible through the Conservative government’s multi-billion-pound School Rebuilding Programme.
After looking at potential build sites with programme officials in Devon, Schools Minister, Nick Gibb MP, has confirmed that the relocation is being treated as a priority with site appraisals set to be complete by the end of this year following my question to him in the House of Commons: School Buildings - Hansard - UK Parliament
