Securing Seaton Hospital as an ‘Asset of Community Value’ is an encouraging step forward to protect the empty wing.
I recently met with Health Minister Lord Markham CBE who agreed to work with me to explore alternative uses for the wing which could benefit the community.
Its demolition now needs to be taken off the table. It makes no sense to spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayer’s money to take away this wing paid for by local people.
As East Devon District Council would have to sign off on its demolition, I want the council to commit to rejecting any such planning application now.
