Plans to close Topsham and Budleigh fire stations should be scrapped

I strongly believe the proposals to close Topsham and Budleigh Salterton fire stations are short-sighted and should be scrapped. I have written to every member of the Devon and Somerset Fire Authority to urge them to think again. You can read my email below.

Dear Cllrs,

My look ahead to 2020

My look ahead to 2020. I want to make East Devon an even better place to live and work. I’m busy recruiting a team to support my work and I’ll be posting adverts very soon.

Happy New Year from Sidmouth!

I just enjoyed a wander around beautiful Sidmouth and bumped into a few friends and supporters. Hopefully the fresh air will help clear this pesky cold! Happy New Year.

New Year Message to Sidmouth Herald readers

As another year draws to a close, our attention turns to a new year - and a new decade. 2019 was a bumpy year in politics, dogged by uncertainty and indecision but as 2020 dawns,

I have a spring in my step, plan in hand and renewed energy to deliver for East Devon as your new MP.

Thank you

The last fortnight has been a whirlwind. Firstly, thank you for placing your trust in me. This was a hard-fought election and I’m delighted to have secured the highest share of the vote in East Devon in decades.

Happy Christmas!

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas. If you are working, thank you. If you aren’t, please spare a thought for those who are.

Changes to the fire service in East Devon

Just met with Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue’s Chief Fire Officer to put forward my concerns about proposals to change services in East Devon. Some of the proposals are unacceptable and I will be watching any decision making very closely.

New class of 2019

It was wonderful to sit with colleagues from all sides of the house for this official picture of all new members. We may not always agree, but we all care about the communities we are elected to serve.
