Great news! It’s just been announced that £6m is being invested by the government in the Exeter Science Park and Devon County Council’s new Future Skills Centre. This is a huge boost for East Devon which recognises that we live in a great place to invest in people.
I’m using every opportunity to bang the drum for investment in the South West. I’m working with Neil Parish MP and neighbouring MPs to improve our railways to keep East Devon connected and competitive.
Great to visit Ventons Cyder in Clyst St Lawrence to meet Mark and discover how they make their delicious cider. I really enjoy the proper stuff and they produce a tasty selection right here in East Devon. I didn’t touch a drop until I got home, naturally!
Life is returning to a degree of normality for most of us in East Devon. More of us can safely go back to work. We're welcoming tourists back and every child will return to school in September. But things are, and will be, different.
I’m delighted the Heart of the South West LEP (covering Devon and Somerset) will receive £35m to support shovel-ready projects in our region and the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities & Local Government is committed to regenerating high streets & town centres.
