Importing and exporting is worth billions to our economy and much of it is transported by air. 60% comes and goes via passenger planes and the global pandemic caused major disruption due to the lack of flights. As a member of the Transport Select Committee, I asked the new Aviation Minister about the subsequent impact on UK trade.
The impact on UK trade as a result of fewer flights exporting and importing goods and the loss of Flybe were discussed in today's Transport Committee meeting.
