Strong winds are forecast which could potentially bring coastal flooding to parts of Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly tomorrow.
The Environment Agency say the storm has been named for the expected high wind and not for high rainfall, however spring tides, storm-generated surge and large waves could mean heightened coastal flood risk – and a small likelihood of tidal flooding.
Although the highest impacts of Storm Eunice will be seen on the north coast, the Environment Agency will be closely monitoring our coastline and issuing flood alerts and flood warnings when necessary.
• Please stay away from the coast and warn wave watchers against the unnecessary danger of taking ‘storm selfies’.
• Please do not drive or walk though flood water – it is often deeper than it looks, can contain unseen hazards and just 30cm of flowing water is enough to float your car.
• You can check your flood risk, sign up for free flood warnings and keep up to date with the latest situation at www.gov.uk, call Floodline on 0345 988 1188 or follow @EnvAgencySW on Twitter for the latest flood updates.
• If you are experiencing flooding, you should report this to the free 24 hour incident hotline: 0800 80 70 60 to allow the Environment Agency to assess the situation and respond appropriately.
